Super quick, easy and tasty, Air Fryer Zucchini is on regular rotation for meals. Everyone of all ages loves these tender, fried feeling zucchini!!

Tips for Air Fryer Zucchini

This recipe cuts zucchini into small, pie-shaped morsels that are perfect for young kids and air frying. Cutting zucchini this way is not essential, but the air frying time and temperature are tailored for these bite-sized pieces.

To cut the zucchini, slice lengthwise down the zucchini after removing the ends. For each zucchini half, slice lengthwise down again, leaving four wedges. Line the four wedges up together horizontally, skin side down, and slice vertically down every ¼ inches.

For toddlers struggling to chew, consider skinning the zucchini first.

Take care to spread zucchini pieces out as a single layer — without overlapping — in the air fryer basket. I can fit about one full, chopped zucchini into my air fryer basket at a time, so air fry in batches if necessary.

Use a removable air fryer basket. These baskets resemble cooling racks, and have a grid-like pattern. Zucchini contains such an immense amount of water that an air fryer basket is necessary for 1) letting moisture drip down to the pan beneath, and 2) preventing liquid from pooling around zucchini pieces as they cook (creates soggy zucchini). Any sort of setup that enables moisture from the zucchini to drain away is best.

For lovely, slightly charred parmesan cheese bits, add parmesan cheese at the beginning. Toss zucchini with grated parmesan cheese at the same time as the salt, garlic powder, pepper and parsley spices.

Some other ideas for variations: season with oregano, thyme or basil.

Skip the pan and oven and cook healthy, tender and tasty zucchini perfectly in your air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 2 zucchini
  • ¼ – ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

Quarter the zucchini lengthwise and then cut them into ¼ inch thick wedges.

In a bowl toss the zucchini with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, parsley and oil.

Spread the zucchini out on a single layer in your air fryer basket.

Air fry for 10 minutes at 325 F.

Carefully sprinkle parmesan cheese over the zucchini and allow to melt (inside the oven) before removing the basket.
