Air fryer kale chips are take only a few minutes to air fry, require a small amount of oil and are perfectly crispy and crumbly when eaten.
Tips for making air fryer kale chips
After washing the kale, drain any excess water using a colander or salad spinner, or by patting them dry.
Cut the kale leaves into similar sizes; and group similar-sized leaves together.
For best results only air fry leaves that are similar in size together.
In the air fryer basket spread kale on one layer with no overlapping leaves. When they overlap the result are chewy rather than crispy chips. Air fry in batches if necessary.
If not preheating your air fryer (I almost never preheat), cut the air fry time down one minute after the first batch. For example, I air fry my first batch for 5 minutes and subsequent batches at 4 minutes.
For smaller kale leaves, cut the air fry time down one minute; for example, if larger leaves are air frying at 4 minutes, then nudge the time down to 3 minutes for smaller leaves.
