Ingredients
- 1 lb. beef
- ½ cup scallions, diced, white and green parts separated
- ½ cup garlic chives, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbps. oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp. hoisin sauce
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 1/8 tsp of black pepper
- 1/8 tsp Sichuan peppercorn powder
Instructions
Make the sauce. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce and hoisin sauce.
In a skillet over medium-high heat, partially cook the ground beef, breaking it into pieces. Discard any juices, such as fats and impurities, that arise.
Lower heat to medium. Add the garlic, scallions and garlic chives. Stir-fry a few minutes.
Add the sauce mixture from earlier, black pepper and Sichuan peppercorn powder and toss with ingredients. Add the maple syrup and toss once more, coating the ingredients well.
Remove when the ground beef is fully cooked. Garnish with green parts of scallions. Serve with rice, noodles, bread, vegetables or choice of sides.
